FAQs
I live outside of California. Are you able to provide therapy services for me/my family/significant other?
No, the state of California mandates that therapy services provided by a licensed therapist in the state of California can only be provided to individuals who reside in the state of California. State law also requires said individuals to be in the state of California at the time that services are provided.
Do you accept insurance?
We do not accept insurance at this time. Dr. Parker is considered an “out-of-network” therapist with many insurance companies and does not bill them directly. With PPO insurance plans, you may be reimbursed either partially, or in full. We are happy to provide you with a monthly “superbill” to give to your insurer. Parker Therapy Solutions, Inc. is not responsible if your insurance company does not reimburse you for your services.
Please contact your insurance company ahead of time and ask the following questions regarding your coverage:
-
Does my plan provide me with out-of-network reimbursement for mental health services?
-
Is there a deductible I need to meet before my insurance will start to reimburse me?
-
Do I need to obtain prior authorization in order to be eligible for reimbursement?
-
What percentage of the cost of my therapy session will my insurance cover?
-
How many sessions per year does my health insurance cover?
What can I expect in a therapy session?
During your session, you will have an opportunity to share whatever is on your mind. Most therapy sessions last 50 minutes, but in some circumstances, this time is extended. As you are a unique individual, and we are unable to predict what issues might be most pressing at any given time, your sessions will be catered to your specific needs on the day of your appointment. You will be treated with respect, compassion, and unconditional acceptance. How often you come in depends entirely upon the severity of your distress and how often you would like to come in.
How long can I expect to be in therapy?
Since everyone is different and each situation is unique, I cannot give a definite timeframe. However, we should have a better idea after your initial consultation. In many cases, people experience the benefits of therapy early in treatment. My goal is to get clients feeling better as quickly as possible.
I am unable to afford therapy at this time? Are there any additional resources available?
